Brecon Beacons National Park

The Brecon Beacons National Park contains some of the UK's most stunning backdrops for walking, cycling and outdoor activities.

The market towns of Hay-On-Wye, Brecon and Crickhowell offer: independent and boutique shops; theatre; cinema; sports; pubs; bars and eating establishments.

The area is home to some fine agricultural land and as a result there is a range of excellent local produce and some fantastic restaurants. Of particular note are the Griffin Inn, Felinfach; the White Swan in Llanfrynach; the Gliffaes county house near Crickhowell; and the Walnut Tree Inn, Abergavenny. Which have earned the area a couple of spots in the Times 50 best places to eat in the Countryside. There are also some farm shops and farmers markets with the Welsh Venison centre in near-by Bwlch being a favourite.

There is plenty to do all year round but the area really comes to life between May and September with the Guardian Hay Literature Festival, Brecon Jazz Festival, the Greenman Festival and the Royal Welsh Show (one of the best agricultural shows in the world).
